Before you submit your manuscript to AICEI Proceedings, please make sure that you read these guidelines carefully and revise the manuscript accordingly.

  • Article Types

    AICEI Proceedings accepts four main article types: 1) Original research, 2) Systematic reviews, 3) Review and 4) Policy and practice review. For more details on the each type, please refer to the Article Type section on the journal website.

  • Templates

    To ease the process of manuscript preparation, AICEI Proceedings provides AICEI Proceedings Word Template. However, author(s) are still advised to read through the Instructions for Authors to adequately prepare their manuscript.

  • Manuscript Length

    All manuscripts submitted to AICEI Proceedings should not exceed 12.000 words in length (without title, abstract, keywords and references).

  • Language editing and style

    All submitted manuscripts must meet international English language standards. The default language style is American English. In case the author(s) would like their manuscript to receive language editing or proofreading, they can contact the editorial office for recommendations on the language-editing services provided by external partners.

  • Manuscript Title

    The title of the manuscript should be clear and concise, avoiding abbreviations as much as possible. The length of the title should not exceed 12 words.

    Each manuscript is supposed to have a Running Title. This should not exceed 5 words in length.

  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s)

    The authors names and surnames are listed together in order of authorship, separated by commas.

    Each author name should be liked to its affiliation by superscript number.

    Example: Jane Doe1
    1 Institute XYZ, Department XYZ, Organization XYZ, City XYZ, Country XYZ
    Corresponding author: A corresponding author should be assigned in the dedicated section.
    Example:
    Corresponding author: Jane Doe, email: janedoe@examplemail.com

  • Abstract

    The abstract itself should be in 10-12 point, single spaced Times New Roman, and should be up to 300 words long. The abstract should include the aim, methodology, findings and contribution of the work in a manner that is clearly accessible to a broad readership. References should not be cited in the abstract. The abstract should be fully justified.

  • Keywords

    It is recommended that the manuscript contains 5-8 keywords. They should be listed in the appropriate section, below the Abstract, written in italic and separated by comma.

  • Formatting

    Manuscripts should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt, single spaced. An AICEI Proceedings Words Template is available.

  • Sections

    The organization of the manuscript depends on its type.

    • Original Research articles should conform to the following format: 1) Abstract, 2) Introduction, 3) Materials and Methods, 4) Results, 5) Discussion and 6) Conclusion.
    • Systematic Review articles should conform to the following format: 1) Abstract, 2) Introduction, 3) Methods (including study design; participants; interventions; comparators; systematic review protocol; search strategy; data sources; studies selection, data extraction and quality analyses; data synthesis and analysis), 4) Results (including a flow diagram of the retrieved; study characteristics; synthesis of findings; assessment of risk of bias), 5) Discussion (including limitations) and 6) Conclusions.
    • Review articles should have the following format: 1) Abstract, 2) Introduction (beginning with an explanation to the background of the subject area and ending with the purpose of the paper and the approach), 3) Subsections that the author(s) identify as relevant for their concept and 4) Discussion (that provides a summary of the state-of-the-art and future trends).
    • Policy & Practice Reviews should have the following format: 1) Abstract, 2) Introduction, 3) Sections on assessment of policy/guidelines options and implications, 4) Recommendations, 5) Discussion.
  • Conflict of Interest

    All financial, commercial or other relationships that might be perceived by the academic community as representing a potential conflict of interest must be disclosed. If no such relationship exists, authors will be asked to confirm the following statement:

    The authors declare that the research was conducted in the absence of any commercial or financial relationships that could be construed as a potential conflict of interest.

  • Author Contributions

    In respect for transparency, all authors are required to submit an author contribution statement specifying the work and individual contributions of each author.

    Example of the statement includes: Concept of the manuscript was made by, X.X. and Y.Y.; the methodology was designed by, X.X.; collection of data was done by X.X; statistical analyses of data was performed by, X.X.; draft of the manuscript was written by, X.X., Y.Y. and Z.Z.; All listed authors have read and agreed to the published version of the manuscript. Only those who have provided substantial contribution to the submitted work are eligible for authorship. Please refer to CRediT taxonomy for an explanation of terms.

    In cases when the article is based on student’s dissertation or thesis, we recommend that the student is listed as a principal author.

  • Funding

    Details of all funding sources should be provided, including grant numbers if applicable. Please ensure to add all necessary funding information, as after publication this is no longer possible.

  • Acknowledgement

    Individuals who do not meet the criteria for authorship, but have contributed to the research, can be included in acknowledgement section.

  • Tables and Figures

    The Tables and Figures and figures should be presented in the main document. Tables should be inserted at specific section in the manuscript where there are referred to and must be provided in an editable format. Tables provided as jpeg/tiff images will not be accepted. Figures must be of sufficient resolution for publication. Figures, tables, and images will be published under a Creative Commons CC-BY licence and permission must be obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including re-published/adapted/modified/partial figures and images from the internet). It is the responsibility of the authors to acquire the licenses, to follow any citation instructions requested by third-party rights holders, and cover any supplementary charges. In case the manuscript contains very large tables (more than one page) they will be published as Supplementary Material on the online article page at the time of acceptance.

  • References

    For articles submitted in AICEI Proceedings, a Harvard Referencing Style is required for in-text and end-of-text citations. You can download the guide here.
